Sharing Our Story

It is our vision to rebuild a vibrant food system that will provide nutritious and culturally appropriate foods for people that need it and to support the economic development of indigenous and local food producers in the Great Lakes region.

The Great Lakes Intertribal Food Coalition and partners are hosting the Indigenous Food Producer Academy at the Forest County Potawatomi Community and Menominee Nation on July 30-31, 2024. All Indigenous producers, community members, and key partners are encouraged to attend. More information and registration will be available soon.

Our goal for the Tribal Elder Food Box Program is to increase access to nutritious, culturally meaningful foods for Tribal members over 55 years old.

Partners purchase foods from Indigenous and non-Indigenous local producers to pack and deliver Elder desired food boxes to Tribal Distribution Sites.
